Underwater World Record Event!

By Anonymous

Scott Cassell and his volunteer team from Kronus Exploration and Coast Diving, Inc. performed the world record dive on Saturday the 19th of October.

The event began at the USS Lane Victory by the Catalina Express Terminal in San Pedro, where Scott Submerged his purpose build diver-tow-vehicle to a depth of 20 feet deep and traveled to Avalon then back to the beginning (52 miles).

The dive took 9.5 hours during which Scott was totally submerged (and wet) using state of the art dive equipment including underwater comms, real-time underwater video, experimental helmet and drysuit.

The event was designed to raise money for Camp Del Corazon which helps children with Heart disease and transplants go to camp and remember what it’s like to be a kid, not a critically ill cardiac patient.

The event designer, Scott Cassell is an instructor at the College of Oceaneering in Wilmington and undersea wildlife film maker.
